STIPULATIONS
Sheff v. O’Neill is a civil rights lawsuit that sought to vindicate the rights of students in Hartford, Connecticut. Filed in 1989, the lawsuit resulted in a landmark decision regarding civil rights and the right to education, decided by the Connecticut Supreme Court in 1996. The plaintiffs continue to advocate for the State of Connecticut to uphold the constitutional rights of children in Hartford to an equal educational opportunity.
