Together, we can make sure no child is denied the education they deserve.

Dear Friend of Quality Integrated Education,
2017 has been a busy year for the Sheff Movement.
We have spent much of the year in the community – listening to the hopes and frustrations of parents, students, and educators, learning a lot about how we can best serve the needs of Hartford families, and connecting and collaborating with many of you on new, exciting ideas for making a high-quality education accessible for all students.
In 2017 we:
- Hosted and attended public events that brought together diverse groups of folks with a shared purpose of deepening our connections, speaking honestly about our lived experiences, and finding healing;
- Held up the voices of Hartford youth as they spoke to policymakers and legislators on the invaluable impact integrated education has had on their lives;
- Initiated and engaged in difficult and important conversations around race, education, and equity in Hartford and beyond; and,
- Committed ourselves to truly listening, hearing, and understanding.
Over half of Hartford students still attend segregated, underfunded schools – and each year, thousands are left on waitlists for regional magnet schools and the Open Choice program.
With your support, we can empower Hartford parents to fight for more high-quality educational opportunities for their children.
With your support, we can equip even more students with the resources and skills to address issues of inequity within their schools and communities.
Together, we can ensure that no child is denied the education they deserve.
We have raised $6,000 of a total $17,000 needed to balance our budget by the end of 2017.
Will you help us reach our goal?
