2015 Film Festival Winners Announced

Monday April 27, 2015

The Sheff Movement was proud to sponsor the inaugural Social Justice Award at this year’s Reel Youth Hartford Film Festival.

The $250 prize was awarded to Nicole Ellis, a student at the Journalism and Media Academy, for her film “Rosaria“.  Congratulations to Nicole for her visually creative film, featuring her classmates and scenes from her school.

We also recognized two other entries with an “Honorable Mention”:

  • My Type” submitted by the middle school film class at Kinsella Magnet School of the Performing Arts
  • The Female Perspective” submitted by Skyler O’Neil at Watkinson School

Many of the 22 entries screened at the festival on April 25th, were submitted by students from Sheff magnet schools, and 5 of the 7 awards went to magnet school students.

You’ll find a list of all the winners and links to the videos on the Reel Youth Hartford Film Festival’s homepage.
