State Money Offered To Hartford School With Potential For ‘Natural Diversity’
‘Lighthouse’ Funding Pledged As Part of Sheff Settlement

HARTFORD — City school officials are encouraging Hartford neighborhood schools with the potential for “natural diversity” to seek new state funding pledged as part of the Sheff v. O’Neill settlement.The winning “lighthouse” school — a new concept for Hartford in the long-running Sheff desegregation case — would receive $750,000 annually for at least 3 years to boost its academic program, officials said.
